Somnath is the site for one of the 12 jyotilingas housed in a shiva temple set beside a pretty beach. Walking distance from the temple is the Prabhas patan museum housing architectural fragments of the original temples of somnath before they were destroyed by invaders. Somnath also has a temple constructed by the famous malwa queen, Ahilya holker, a sun temple, the Triveni Tirth where holy river meet the sea, Bhalka tirth where lord Krishna disappered the Krishna chattri, and caves associated with the Mahabharat.
